The first day of child care is a major milestone for your child and for you. We ensure your child makes a smooth transition through our familiarisation process which involves families and early childhood practitioners and caters for the individual needs of your child.
Care’s long day care centres currently run Open Learning programs which are focused on a play-based curriculum. Our early childhood practitioners have relevant qualifications and the program which was developed by Care’s team of professional early childhood educators, focuses on four main ideas:
Indoor and outdoor environments are designed for the different age groups and can be changed to suit both individual and group needs. Care’s programs provide creative, stimulating and educational play. Children participate in a range of activities within a child focused and nurturing environment.
Activities and experiences children can choose from include dramatic play, music and story time, puzzles and games, construction activities, language and literacy, painting and play dough, climbing, balancing, swinging, sand and water play, exploratory play, observing the natural environment and creative play.
From 2007, all Queensland children will have access to a full-time preparatory year of education before starting Year 1. This preparatory year will be offered in all state primary schools and will replace the part-time state preschool system. Care’s early childhood programs for the preschooling year will focus on preparing children for the preparatory year.
