Care has one occasional early childhood centre based at Jamboree Heights in Brisbane - Kiah Occasional Early Childhood Centre.  Occasional care is provided for children aged six weeks to school age and is suitable for parents needing time away from their young children so they can:

• go shopping or attend appointments
• play sport or pursue a hobby
• visit friends
• do casual or part-time work
• assist a school age child
• spend time with a new baby
• or just have a break.

Kiah, an aboriginal word for beautiful place,  is a centre where children are giventhe opportunity to socialise with other children of a similar age group in a safe setting where they learn through play.

Hours of Care

Kiah Occasional Early Childhood Centre provides child care from 8 am to 4pm Monday to Friday.  Parents may choose care from a minimum of two hours to two days or more per week depending on availability.

Morning session:        8 am - 12 midday

Afternoon session:     12 pm - 4 pm   

All day session:          8 am - 4 pm

 

How to book

You may book your child into Kiah Occasional Early Childhood Centre by phone, email or in person.  Bookings may be made in advance or on the day care is required.

 

Fees

There is a small equipment levy charge per family per year payable on enrollment.  Fees are paid on an hourly or daily basis.  Cancellations made after 8.30am on the day of the booked time will incur a cancellation fee.

Families are eligible to apply for the Child Care Benefit - a means based support payment to parents to assist with the cost of child care.

 

Our facilities

Indoor and outdoor environments are designed for the different ages and can be changed to suit individual and group needs.  We provide creative, stimulating and educational play experiences.  Children participate in a range of activities in a child focused and nurturing environment.

Our Centre

The centre is licensed by the Department of Communities.  Kiah's program and facilities are continually assessed and improved to ensure the quality of care offered is of the highest standard.
